Arnold Yok Fai Wong, co-founder of ARTA Architects, brings extensive global experience and a portfolio of award-winning projects. Before ARTA, Arnold worked at renowned architectural firms, including SANAA (Tokyo & Paris), UNStudio (Amsterdam, Hong Kong & Shanghai), and Aedas (Hong Kong), where he served as lead designer for theatres, museums, airports, hotels, and shopping malls across Asia and Europe.
Arnold has received numerous prestigious design awards, including the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Young Architect Award, the A&D 40 Under 40 Awards, and the DFA Awards Hong Kong Young Design Talents. He was also awarded The Wharf ArchDesign Resource Trust.
His work has been showcased at the Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture and DeTour. Arnold has earned recognition in competitions such as the Victoria Harbour Word Art Competition (Winner), the Hong Kong Young Architects & Designers Competition (Highlighted Entries), and the International Architecture Thesis Awards (First Prize).
Beyond his design practice, Arnold served as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Hong Kong, teaching a Master of Architecture design studio. He has also co-led design workshops in collaboration with Wharf Limited and Project We Can, inspiring the next generation of designers through community services.
註冊建築師,ARTA Architects凝態建築設計的聯合創辦人。此前,他以一級榮譽及優異成績畢業於香港大學建築系的學士及碩士課程,並曾於SANAA事務所(東京及巴黎)、UNStudio(阿姆斯特丹、上海及香港)與Aedas等國際知名建築事務所工作。他榮獲多個設計獎項,包括香港建築師學會青年建築師獎、A&D 40 Under 40 Award、DFA香港青年設計才俊獎與The Wharf ArchDesign Resource Trust得主等等。他曾亦於香港大學擔任助理講師,教授建築系碩士的建築設計課程。
Tat Lai Wong, co-founder of ARTA Architects, believes that architecture has the power to inspire its users through rethinking and challenging traditional notions of design. In his quest for originality and innovation, he also strives to create architecture that can have a positive impact to the mind, body and spirit of its users. He has over 15 years of experience playing a key role in award-winning architectural projects in the commercial, residential and hospitality sectors in Hong Kong.
Before ARTA, he was an Associate at Aedas where he worked on a number of groundbreaking projects, such as the redevelopment of Takshing House, the first open space approach design of 369 Hennessy Road, and the innovative façade design of Townplace West Kowloon.
Since co-founding ARTA in pursuit of his vision and goals, he has completed a diverse range of project typologies each with its own unique and creative design concept, ranging from the newly completed iconic design of the Hong Kong Maritime Anchor Plaza, the celebration of historical elements and nautical themes in the revitalization of Aberdeen Boat Club, the stylish and hip renovation of Vega Suites hotel, to the design of Tai Kwun Chairs that tells the story of the site’s mix of old and new architecture.
The A&D 40 under 40 award winner in 2022 continues to be inspired by the pursuit of exploring new concepts in design, and continues to take on more challenging and complex projects in their pursuit for originality and creativity.
