Arnold Yok Fai Wong is an award-winning architect and the co-founder of ARTA Architects. At ARTA, Arnold has spearheaded transformative public realm projects along Victoria Harbour, spanning from the 20,000-square-meter Kai Tak Promenade to over 20 large-scale art installations. In 2025, he led his team to victory in the Qianhai Design Open Competition. Currently, he is directing several high-profile projects, including the innovative Flower Market 2.0—a retail development utilizing Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) in Hong Kong, a bespoke villa in Karuizawa, Japan, and a shopping mall renovation for Swire Properties.

Prior to founding ARTA, Arnold built a distinguished global portfolio at world-renowned architectural practices. His tenure includes collaborating with SANAA in Tokyo and Paris, and working with UNStudio in Amsterdam and Hong Kong, as well as with Aedas. Across these roles, he led the design concepts and project delivery for landmark theaters, museums, and commercial complexes across Asia and Europe.

His contributions have earned top-tier industry recognition, including the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) Young Architect Award, the A&D 40 Under 40 Award, and the DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award. His work has been exhibited globally at Milan Design Week, the Venice Architecture Biennale, and the Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale, and featured in publications by the HKIA and the Hong Kong Design Centre.

Arnold graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies with First Class Honours and a Master of Architecture with Distinction. Bridging academic excellence with practice, he returned to his alma mater to teach the Master of Architecture design studio, and he continues to actively lead community design workshops for local youth.

Tat Lai Wong, co-founder of ARTA Architects, believes that architecture has the power to inspire its users through rethinking and challenging traditional notions of design. In his quest for originality and innovation, he also strives to create architecture that can have a positive impact to the mind, body and spirit of its users. He has over 15 years of experience playing a key role in award-winning architectural projects in the commercial, residential and hospitality sectors in Hong Kong.

Before ARTA, he was an Associate at Aedas where he worked on a number of groundbreaking projects, such as the redevelopment of Takshing House, the first open space approach design of 369 Hennessy Road, and the innovative façade design of Townplace West Kowloon.

Since co-founding ARTA in pursuit of his vision and goals, he has completed a diverse range of project typologies each with its own unique and creative design concept, ranging from the newly completed iconic design of the Hong Kong Maritime Anchor Plaza, the celebration of historical elements and nautical themes in the revitalization of Aberdeen Boat Club, the stylish and hip renovation of Vega Suites hotel, to the design of Tai Kwun Chairs that tells the story of the site’s mix of old and new architecture.

The A&D 40 under 40 award winner in 2022 continues to be inspired by the pursuit of exploring new concepts in design, and continues to take on more challenging and complex projects in their pursuit for originality and creativity.
